Grant Budgeting for Data Management and Sharing: Practical Advice for Researchers
Join us on September 12 at 1 pm ET for the FASEB DataWorks! Salon on budgeting for data management and sharing in grant applications. Hear from experts, including the director of Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration (OPERA) and a representative from the NIH Office of Science Policy, as they discuss the latest on the NIH Data Management and Sharing policy and its impact on grant budgets. You will also gain valuable insights from a data manager at Stanford University on effectively planning your data management and sharing budget from a researcher's perspective.

At the end of this salon, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the basics of how the 2023 NIH Data Management and Sharing policy affected the grant budgeting process
  • List examples of what can and cannot be included in an NIH data management and sharing budget
  • Identify the functions of an institutional research office as related to data management and sharing budgeting
  • Name a starting point for creating their own data management and sharing budget
Who Should Attend
This salon is aimed at life sciences researchers, including principal investigators and trainees. We will focus on the NIH data management and sharing policy, but individuals funded under other institutions or government agencies may also find some of the content relevant to their grants.
