Lung Epithelium in Health and Disease

Summary

July 28-August 1, 2024

For over 20 years, academic, clinical, and industrial investigators of lung biology have attended this Science Research Conference to build professional networks and learn foundational and emerging topics in lung health and disease. This SRC will capture the latest advances in lung development, stem cells, and disease while fostering networking and creating opportunities for junior researchers (including those from historically excluded groups).

Goals and Takeaways

  • Sampling of the latest research topics in lung development, regeneration, and diseases
  • Detailed understanding of state-of-the-art imaging and genomic tools
  • Expanded knowledge of emerging therapies within lung diseases

Program Topics

  • Embryonic and neonatal lung development
  • Adult lung repair and regeneration
  • Epithelium-endothelium-mesenchyme crosstalks
  • Epithelium-immune crosstalks
  • Lung-brain-gut crosstalks
  • Epigenomics and cell fate transition
  • Organoids and PSC-derived lung cells
  • Emerging lung biology and technology

Workshops
Trainees and junior faculty are invited to participate in a Meet the Experts workshop to receive career and scientific advice from seasoned investigators.

A special Career Development Workshop will focus on both academic and industrial career paths.
