FASEB is now accepting entries for its annual BioArt Scientific Image and Video Awards contest. Entries are due by January 6and can be submitted online. FASEB will award $500 each to four winning images and videos in the following categories:
  • Fluorescence or electron microscopy
  • Short video
  • Other life science images
  • Trainee / Early-career (open to graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and researchers within seven years of first independent scientist position)
As scientific investigators, your research produces some creative art. How many outside the confines of your lab, though, have seen this art? To showcase the intersection of art with science, FASEB’s BioArt Awards enable researchers to share the beauty and wonder of biological research. BioArt Awards are presented annually to honor original, visually compelling photographs, illustrations, data visualizations, or videos produced during biological/biomedical science research activities that effectively communicate an important aspect of 21st century biological research. Images or videos using electron microscopy, fluorescent microscopy, medical/anatomical illustrations, x-ray crystallography, MRI, histology, gel electrophoresis, structural and pathway illustrations are eligible for the contest.

Please visit the BioArt Awards webpage for guidelines, timeline, and FAQ. Membership in a FASEB member society is not required to enter the contest.
