Application Deadline Approaches for FASEB Fellows for the Future
By: France-Elvie BandaWednesday, September 25, 2024
FASEB Fellows for the Future is a 12-month cohort-based project for early-career researchers from historically excluded groups who seek culture change and push for greater inclusivity within scientific societies. This new program provides mentorship, leadership training, and sponsored engagement in scientific societies' professional development opportunities. Applications for the 2024 cohort close on September 30. Apply here.
Equitable engagement in a professional society is an integral part of career development for early-career researchers, especially those from historically excluded communities. Professional development and mentor support from scientific societies can combat the barriers to leadership and networking building that early-career scientists from historically excluded communities typically experience at academic institutions.
FASEB Fellows for the Future program will empower the next generation of scientific leaders committed to creating inclusive environment, the skills to advocate governance changes within scientific societies, develop inclusive visionary and strategic leadership, and through dedicated mentorship become strong volunteer leaders.
