The FASEB Journal Doubles Editorial Board, Broadens Research Expertise

With the addition of 26 new members, The FASEB Journal recently increased the size of its editorial board by 50 percent. The editors were chosen to expand the interdisciplinary journal’s research expertise to new areas, and to deepen capabilities in established subjects.    

In addition, a new associate editor joins the ranks of The FASEB Journal: Chen Dong of Tsinghua University in China, who brings expertise in immunology and immuno-oncology.


“With an impact factor of 5.595, The FASEB Journal is already sought out by investigators in a variety of fields,” said Thoru Pederson, Editor-in-Chief. “With the appointment of Dr. Dong and this robust expansion, researchers should know that the journal is a strong option for an even broader scope of exciting work. And in keeping with FASEB’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, more than 50 percent of the new editors are women,” Pederson said.

The new editorial board members are:

Immunology: Jürgen Bernhagen, University of Munich; Yeonseok Chung, Seoul National University; and Mark Poznansky, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School

Hepatology: Patrizia Farci, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; David Shafritz, Albert Einstein College of Medicine; and Mengwei Zang, UT Health San Antonio
 

Dermatology: Ethan Lerner, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
 

Cell Biology: Elizabeth Luna, University of Massachusetts Medical School; Rita Miller, National Science Foundation; and Karen Ridge, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
 

Pulmonary biology and pathology: Karen Ridge, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
 

The microbiome: Megan Baldridge, Washington University School of Medicine
 

Cancer: Kimbaz Alavian, Imperial College, London; Katherine Van Loon, University of California San Francisco; and Wen Xue, University of Massachusetts Medical School
