Introducing the 2024 FASEB BioArt Awards

FASEB is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 BioArt Awards. The BioArt Awards celebrate original, visually stunning photographs, illustrations, data visualizations, and videos that effectively communicate an important aspect of 21st-century biological and biomedical research.

The recipients of the 2024 awards are: 
  • Fluorescence or Electron Microscopy Category: Michael Schumacher, PhD, Assistant Professor, Children's Hospital Los Angeles
  • All Other Life Sciences: Soutick Saha, PhD, Bioinformatics Developer, Wolfram Alpha LLC 
  • Short Video Category: Priscilla Vieto Bonilla, Student, Universidad Nacional del Comahue, Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Overall Early-career Category: Brandon Antonio Segura Torres, Student, Universidad Nacional del Comahue, Buenos Aires, Argentina
The FASEB BioArt Awards were established in 2011 and are presented annually. This competition is open to all researchers in the biological and biomedical fields. To qualify, entries must consist of visually striking images or videos produced during biological or biomedical science research activities. Examples of acceptable formats include electron microscopy, fluorescent microscopy, medical/anatomical illustrations, x-ray crystallography, MRI, histology, gel electrophoresis, data visualizations, and structural or pathway illustrations.
