FASEB Webinar - Animal Research Regulations - The Role of IACUC and AAALAC in Animal Research Oversight (Part 2)

In a two-part webinar series on animal research regulations, part two of the series “Animal Research Regulations – The Role of IACUC and AAALAC in Animal Research Oversight” will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM (ET). In the one-hour long webinar, speakers will elaborate on the role of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC International) and how they ensure that animal research is conducted safely.

This webinar will assist researchers to: 1) understand how the laws and guidelines discussed in Part 1 serve as a basis for the functions of IACUC and AAALAC, 2) recognize their responsibilities in research compliance, and 3) learn how to effectively communicate with these groups. Presenters include Gaylen Edwards, DVM, PhD, Chair, Animal Care and Use Committee, University of Georgia; Kathryn Bayne, MS, PhD, DVM, DACLAM, DACAW, CAAB, Chief Executive Officer, AAALAC International; and Alice Huang, PhD, Staff Scientist and Deputy for IACUC Guidance, Office of the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer (CVMO), Department Veterans Affairs.
