FASEB Submits Comments to NIH Report on Sexual Harrassment

On February 4, FASEB submitted comments to the Advisory Committee to the Director of the National Institutes of Health on the final report presented by the Working Group on Changing the Culture to End Sexual Harassment during its December 2019 meeting. In its comments, FASEB expressed support for treating professional misconduct, including sexual harassment, with the same gravity as research misconduct, and for emphasizing that safe environments are necessary to pursue excellent science. Additionally, FASEB’s comments also highlighted the need for further details and an implementation plan for several recommendations included in the final report to ensure transparent processes and victim-friendly approaches.
