FASEB Recommends NSF Expand Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Data Collection

On June 24, FASEB transmitted comments to National Science Foundation (NSF) on the renewal of the National Survey of College Graduates (NSCG), announced in the Federal Register on May 4. In its letter, FASEB praised NSF for piloting data collection on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) in the NSCG, and echoed prior recommendations that NSF pursue SOGI data collection in other pertinent scientific workforce surveys such as the Survey of Graduate Students and Postdoctorates in Science and Engineering, Survey of Earned Doctorates, and Survey of Doctorate Recipients.
