FASEB Issues Statement on House Fiscal Year 2020 LHHS Appropriations Bill

FASEB issued a statement commending the House Committee on Appropriations for including a $2 billion increase in funding for the National Institutes of Health in the fiscal year 2020 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) Appropriations bill. Appreciation was expressed to LHHS Subcommittee Chair Rosa DeLauro for her leadership to strongly support biomedical research. The FASEB statement also urged Congress to quickly to reach an agreement to raise the discretionary spending caps to make more resources available for federal science programs.
