CARES Award Recipient

Landon Bayless-Edwards

Landon Bayless-Edwards is a graduate student at the Vollum Institute at Oregon Health and Sciences University. She is part of the labs of Tianyi Mao and Haining Zhong, where she studies how opioids modulate striatal inputs. In parallel, she has taken part in the development and characterization of new genetically encoded fluorescent sensors for the intracellular signaling molecules cAMP and PKC. These sensors allow in vivo examination of neuronal responses to endogenous and exogenous neuromodulators.

Use of award: Childcare expenses during the weekend to cover protected time for publications and to present work at the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting.

Landon Bayless-Edwards is a member of American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, a FASEB member society.
