FASEB Provides Input on NSF’s Strategic Plan
By: Yvette SegerWednesday, January 13, 2021
On January 8, FASEB submitted comments in response to a Request for Information from the National Science Foundation (NSF) seeking public comment on the key elements and high-level questions that will guide the development of the 2022 – 2026 NSF Strategic Plan.
In its response, FASEB noted that the three goals of the current (2018 – 2022) NSF Strategic Plan provide a solid foundation for the 2022 – 2026 plan and highlighted areas that could benefit from additional financial support and programming in each area. These reiterate core tenets of FASEB’s mission, including increased support for foundational, investigator-initiated research, strategies to ensure a diverse and competitive STEM workforce, and continuing efforts to streamline grantee requirements and reduce administrative burdens while ensuring proper stewardship of federal funds.
NSF is accepting comments on its strategic planning process through January 22, 2021.
