Olubodun Lateef
Olubodun Lateef, MSc, is a third-year doctoral student in the Laboratory of Vascular Organization at the University of Missouri. He obtained his bachelor's degree in medical physiology and a master's degree in applied biotechnology. He is pursuing his doctoral degree in the Department of Medical Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Missouri. His research focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms of arterial stiffening and remodeling in obesity-related cardiovascular disease, with the goal of identifying novel therapeutic strategies to prevent and treat these conditions.
Outside the lab, Lateef is a guitarist and pianist, enjoying music and networking with new people. The FASEB CARES Award will give him additional time and technical expertise to conduct cardiovascular research.
Use of award: Cover expenses for weekend childcare, registering for confocal microscopy training, and childcare costs associated with attending the American Heart Association’s Hypertension conference.
