CUSP Grows as a Community Resource for Animal Researchers
By: Galen CobbThursday, April 9, 2026
The Federal Demonstration Partnership's Compliance Unit Standard Procedures (CUSP) sharing site reached its one-year anniversary with notable growth and a slate of planned improvements. Designed to reduce administrative burden for animal researchers by providing a centralized repository of standard procedures for use in animal research protocols, CUSP has attracted 50 users and accumulated over 90 protocols in its first year of operation.
The CUSP team is now looking ahead to enhancements that will broaden the site's utility, including an API for integration with e-protocol systems and built-in AI functions for protocol summaries, among other improvements. These updates aim to improve user experience and expand CUSP's reach across the research community.
Researchers and institutions interested in learning more or contributing to the site are encouraged to visit the CUSP webpage and direct any questions to CUSP@thefdp.org.
