FASEB Statement on New U.S. Science Leadership

FASEB appreciates the swift confirmation of Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, and Michael Kratsios to key scientific advisor roles – Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), respectively – within the new Administration. As Bhattacharya and Kratsios ascend to these roles during a time of extreme uncertainty across federal science agencies, FASEB – a coalition of 22 professional societies representing over 110,000 individual scientists in the biological and biomedical sciences – looks forward to the opportunity to work with each to ensure the United States maintains its leadership in research discoveries that further human health and wellness.
