FASEB Publications Announce Exciting Editorial Updates

We are delighted to announce a few additions and changes to our editorial leadership team across FASEB Publication, further strengthening our commitment to excellence in scientific publishing. 

New Associate Editors Join The FASEB Journal

The FASEB Journal welcomes two distinguished researchers as Associate Editors: Dr. Lauren Sparks and Dr. Aijun Sun. 

LaurenSparks-116x116.jpgDr. Lauren Sparks brings her expertise in metabolic disease and aging research as an Associate Investigator at the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute. Recognized as a “Rising Star in Physiology” by the Danish Diabetes Academy, Dr. Spark’s innovative work focuses on the epigenomic regulation of exercise response and its implications for metabolic disease. Her research on the endocrine communication between adipose tissue and other organs has provided valuable insights into obesity and aging. Her expertise in translational metabolism and clinical exercise interventions will be a valuable addition to our editorial team. 

AijunSun-116x116.jpgDr. Aijun Sun joins us from the Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, where she serves as a professor. A recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Dr. Sun has made significant contributions to understanding heart failure mechanisms. Her research on cardiac sodium channel genes and mitochondrial dysfunction has opened new avenues for heart failure treatment. Her expertise in cardiovascular research and energy metabolism will enhance our journal’s scope and impact. 

New Deputy Editor at FASEB BioAdvances

ThomasSanderson-116x116.jpgWe are also pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Thomas Sanderson to Deputy Editor of FASEB BioAdvances. As an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Sanderson brings extensive experience in brain injury research and mitochondrial biology. His innovative work on neuroprotective therapies and successful translation of research into clinical applications through patent development demonstrates his commitment to advancing the field. His experience as a reviewer for multiple granting agencies and previous editorial roles makes him exceptionally qualified for this leadership position. 

These appointments reflect our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of scientific publishing while expanding our expertise across crucial areas of biological and biomedical research. Please join us in welcoming Drs. Sparks, Sun, and Sanderson to their new roles.
