Fasilat Hassan, PhD
Fasilat Hassan is a second-year graduate student (Biomedical sciences) at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She is currently working on cardiac fibrosis, diastolic dysfunction, and associated conditions. Hassan obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a master’s degree from the same university. She has dedicated the past four years to active research and hopes to continually discover therapeutic approaches to prevent diseases in humans and animals.
Being a graduate student who is also the primary caregiver to an infant, FASEB CARES will help to offset the extra cost of childcare while she balances her research and academic career in the completion of her PhD requirements.
Hassan is a member of American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and American Physiological Society, FASEB member societies.
