FASEB Leads Community Letter Opposing SPARE Act

Monday, June 2, 2025
FASEB was joined by 31 community organizations in a letter sent to Representatives Nicole Malliotakis and Aaron Bean, stating support for the use of animals in American biomedical research and opposing the Save Pets, Animals, and Research Ethics (SPARE)  Act. If passed, the SPARE Act would ban federal funding for animal research, reducing U.S. capacity for biomedical innovation and scientific discovery. The letter addresses common misconceptions presented in the bill that overstate the readiness of newer technologies to replace animal research.
