New FASEB President James M. Musser, MD, PhD, Assumes Office July 1

On July 1, James M. Musser, MD, PhD, begins his year-long term as President of FASEB. Dr. Musser is Chair of Pathology and Genomic Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital and Houston Methodist Research Institute in Houston. He holds the Fondren Endowed Presidential Distinguished Chair and directs the Center for Molecular and Translational Human Infectious Diseases Research at the Houston Methodist Research Institute. He is also Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

“Dr. Musser has been active in the FASEB community for years – both on the board and in several FASEB member societies – and we are thrilled to welcome him as president, continuing a tradition of leadership excellence,” said Frank Krause, CAE, FASEB Executive Director & CEO. “As a clinician-scientist, he works at the nexus of basic science and clinical care, which will be a valuable perspective for FASEB in the year ahead.”
