The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) has named Todd Bentsen as Director of Communications in the Office of Public Affairs.

A longtime communications professional for national health and science organizations, Bentsen was most recently Associate Vice President for Communications at Georgetown University Medical Center, leading external and internal communications for the private academic medical center.

“We are very pleased to have Todd Bentsen on the FASEB team,” remarked FASEB Acting Executive Director Howard Garrison. “I have known him for many years and have great respect for his experience and expertise, and he is the ideal person to lead the Federation’s communications efforts in these very challenging times.”

Bentsen brings a breadth of experience in biomedical research to the FASEB role, having held communications leadership positions at Society for Neuroscience, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs. He served in various communications roles at the Association of American Medical Colleges earlier in his career. Bentsen has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Maryland.
