The American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism (AJP-Endo) provides original studies at organizational levels ranging from the molecular, subcellular, and cellular levels to whole animals, including humans.
Relevant areas investigated include the secretion, action, and function of hormones of the endocrine brain, the anterior pituitary gland, adrenal gland, pancreas, thyroid, parathyroid, gonads, and reproductive tissues, and the paracrine and autocrine control of endocrine cell performance.
Specific themes are also examined, such as mechanisms of hormone and growth factor action, gene expression, and ionic and membrane control of hormone secretion.
