All nominations must be submitted through the Excellence in Science Award nomination submission site by the nominator or a designated assistant. All documents must be individual PDF files. The documents may be uploaded in one session or numerous sessions.
Nominators and nominees must be a member of at least one FASEB Member Society but do not have to be members of the same society.
Submissions must include all of the follow documents:
Nomination letter, setting forth in detail:
Contribution(s) to the field that represents the nominee’s outstanding achievement in science;
Evidence of leadership and mentorship;
Evidence of national recognition;
Honors and awards;
Synopsis of selected bibliography.
Complete curriculum vitae documenting:
Five nominee reprints
Three letters of support from the nominee’s peers
Three letters of recommendation from trainees
Note: the numbers of documents to be submitted are exact. Additional documents will not be accepted and fewer documents than the numbers specified will be considered an incomplete nomination.
The award recipient will be expected to present an Excellence in Science Award Lecture in 2015 at the annual meeting of a FASEB Member Society. The recipient may choose the topic of her lecture and the meeting at which she will present the lecture. A presentation of the award will take place in conjunction with the lecture. In addition to a $10,000 unrestricted research grant, the award covers the recipients travel to/from the meeting, hotel expenses, complimentary meeting registration, and a plaque in recognition of the award.
The 2015 nomination cycle began on January 1, 2014 and closed on March 1, 2014.
